A ruling on whether to terminate ethnic contempt charges against Narok Senator Ledama ole Kina was on Tuesday deferred until next Monday.

Milimani Chief magistrate Martha Mutuku who was scheduled to deliver the ruling was said to be attending a court users meeting bringing together all magistrates and judges.

Ole Kina has refused to take a plea in the case, citing a defective charge sheet.

Through lawyers George Wajackoya and Omwanza Ombati, Kina asked the court not to allow the plea taking.

But the Directorate of Public Prosecutions urged the court to dismiss the application by the defence, saying it has been brought in bad faith.

On February 19, Kina is said to have made remarks on a TV interview to incite feelings of discrimination against non-Maas
