All the cases were registered among Kenyan citizens.
Sixty-two (62) of the new infections were recorded among male patients, whereas 28 were female.
The youngest new patient is 14 years old, whereas the oldest is 80 years old.
Nairobi produced 36 of the new infections, whereas Mombasa posted 34. Busia recorded 12 new COVID-19 cases, whereas Uasin-Gishu produced three cases.
Kilifi, Garissa, Kisumu, Meru and Turkana counties produced a case each.
In Nairobi, the 36 cases were from the following neighbourhoods: Kibra (12), Makadara and Mathare (5 each), Kamukunji (4), Langata (3) Westlands and Embakasi Central (2 each), Dagoretti North, Embakasi West and Embakasi South (1 case each).
In Mombasa, the 34 new COVID-19 cases were drawn from: Mvita (14) Kisauni (8), Likoni, Jomvu and Changamwe (4 cases each).
Seventy-two (72) more COVID-19 patients were discharged from various hospitals across Kenya, bringing to 1, 164 the total number of recoveries, that translates to 35% of the total infections in the country.
Unfortunately, four more patients succumbed to the contagion, pushing the toll to 96, said CAS Dr. Rashid Aman while addressing journalists at Afya House in Nairobi on Friday, June 12.
Kenya has thus far tested a total of 108, 666 samples for COVID-19, meaning only 3% of those tested returned positive results.
