Planned maintenance blackouts are a regular part of Kenya Power’s operational routine as it continues to modernise the national grid and expand power access.

The company has, in recent months, stepped up infrastructure upgrades in Nairobi and other urban centers to support growing demand and reduce cases of voltage fluctuations and transformer failures.

The maintenance works are essential to upgrade infrastructure, replace ageing components, and enhance system stability.

The power firm has also advised customers to treat all power lines as live during the outage period, even when electricity appears to be off, for safety reasons.

Businesses operating in the affected areas, especially those dependent on a continuous electricity supply, have been encouraged to make alternative arrangements.
