Kenya Power lists areas to face power interruption on Saturday, November 8
By Paulette Mboga, November 7, 2025Kenya Power has announced a scheduled power maintenance exercise affecting parts of Nairobi, South Nyanza, and Mt. Kenya regions on Saturday, November 8, 2025.
The company said the interruptions will take place between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm as part of routine maintenance to improve electricity reliability in the affected areas.
Nairobi region
In Nairobi, the maintenance will affect parts of South C. The specific locations include KAWI House, Kawi Complex Road, part of Oleshapara Road, part of Muhoho Road, CID, KIRDI, Akila 1 and 2 Estate, Akila Police, Mugoya Estate, Amana Estate, MUWA University, Red Cross, Boma Hotel, Al Mbarak Estate, Green 2 Estate, and adjacent customers.
The planned work is expected to cause a temporary power outage throughout the maintenance period. Going by their statement on X, Kenya Power hinted to residents and business owners in these areas to plan accordingly, as normal supply will resume immediately after the works are completed.
South Nyanza region
In South Nyanza, parts of Nyamira County will be affected, particularly the Nyansiongo and Chepngombe areas. The affected zones include Nyansiongo Mission, Manga Market, Eronge Boarding, Laitigo, Kamukunji Kebuse, Changwani, Etangi, Kahawa Secondary School, Nyansiongo Boys, and nearby customers.

The maintenance will also run from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Residents in these areas have been advised to take note of the outage and make arrangements for the temporary loss of power during the maintenance period.
Mt. Kenya region
In the Mt. Kenya region, parts of Nyeri County will experience power interruptions, specifically around Kiamwangi Coffee Factory. Other affected places include part of Saigon, Kwa Ngacha Village, Kahashu Village, Kiarithaini Secondary School, Kiaritha-ini Primary School, Kiaritha-ini Market, Silver Wind, Riverbank, Safaricom Boosters, Airtel Boosters, and adjacent customers.
The planned maintenance will be carried out within the same time frame as other regions. Power supply in all affected areas is expected to return once the scheduled maintenance is completed later in the evening.
