Kenya Power lists areas to experience outage on Tuesday, October 7
By Paulette Mboga, October 6, 2025Kenya Power has announced that several parts of the country will experience planned power interruptions on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, as part of scheduled maintenance on its distribution network.
In a statement issued on Monday evening, the company said the exercise will take place between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., and will affect customers in Nairobi, North Rift, Western, and Mt. Kenya regions.
Nairobi region
In Nairobi, residents of Kariobangi South, Pioneer Phase 1 and 2, Buruburu Phase 5, KCC Village, and parts of Kangundo Road have been notified to expect power interruptions for close to eight hours.
The company also listed several estates and business areas in Kilimani and Jamhuri Estate as affected zones.
These include Cotton Road, Dennis Pritt Road, Kayawe Road, Galana Road, parts of Argwings Kodhek Road, Lenana Road, Chania Avenue, Wood Avenue, Kirichwa Road, and Adlife Plaza.
Other affected locations are Yaya Centre, Prestige Plaza, Moi Girls Kibera, Toi Market, Woodley Estate, Jamhuri Estate, and sections of Ngong Road, Suna Road, Kindaruma Road, and Joseph Kang’ethe Road. Kenya Power advised residents and businesses in these areas to make alternative arrangements during the outage period.
North Rift region
In the North Rift, the power company said parts of Uasin Gishu County will also experience a scheduled outage. The affected areas include Simat, Mutwot, Kisor Dispensary, and Tuiyo Kamotong, alongside nearby customers.

Western region
In the Western region, power cuts will affect several parts of Vihiga County, including Musiri, Gamogi Market, Itiengere, Jebrock Market, Kini Market, Kapkerer Market, Kaseta, Malinda, Likindu Health Centre, Saride, Ivola, Kapsaoi, Police, and Mutiva.
Parts of Kakamega County, such as Burkas, Lunza, Mungune, Lukumbo, Metamwele, Shibanga, and surrounding communities, will also be affected.
Mt. Kenya and upper Eastern regions
In the Mt. Kenya region, residents of Nyeri County will experience temporary disconnections in Mahiga, Ihithe, Thuti Factory, Birithia Secondary, Kagonye Market, Kagere Market, Kenyatta Secondary, Mahiga Girls, Munyange Market, Njigari Market, Dr Kamundia Secondary, and Ihithe Market.
Additionally, Karundas, Githungo, Mbiriri Market, Mapema Shopping Centre, Kanyagia, and Endarasha will also be affected by the maintenance.
Other areas include Esacco, Sangare, Honi, Rhino Watch, Uasonyiro, Mairo, Endarasha Market, Pura, Endarasha Secondary School, Watuka Market, Wandare Market, Kabati, Mwiyogo, Embaringo, Watuka Village, and Kimunyuru Market, together with adjacent customers.
In Murang’a County, affected areas are Kamahuha, Thaara, and Igikiro, including Thaara Secondary, Kamahuha Market, Igikiro Village, and ACK Kamahuha Parish.
Parts of Embu County, such as Gitaru, Kindaruma, and Kiambere, will also experience outages, with affected locations including Kiambere Kengen Camps, Water Meyer, Katothya, Kavui, Ngiiri, Mutuobare Market, and Cieria.
In Kirinyaga County, areas like Spenza Millers, Kimicha, Kiaga Market, Thumaita West Village, Baricho, Kianda Market, Kiambwe Coffee Factory, and Thiguku Market will be impacted.
Parts of Tharaka Nithi County — including Kibugua, Magumoni, Njuri High, Kericho, Gitogoto, Kiamuriuki, and Kiracha Market — will face interruptions from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
In Laikipia County, Jua Kali, Naibor, and Mayan areas, including Rititi, Edana, Oxy Energy, and Jesel Farm, are also on the maintenance schedule.
