Kenya Power announces blackout in parts of 3 counties on Saturday, November 1

Kenya Power has announced a scheduled power interruption affecting customers in parts of Nairobi, Uasin Gishu, and Isiolo counties on Saturday, November 1, 2025.

In a notice shared on Friday, October 31, 2025, the company stated that the planned outage will facilitate essential maintenance works across several key supply lines in the three regions.

The utility firm said the exercise is part of its ongoing efforts to enhance power reliability and minimise unplanned interruptions in the affected areas.

“Good Evening. The following areas will be on a planned power maintenance tomorrow, Saturday, 1st November 2025,” Kenya Power wrote.

In Nairobi County, the blackout will affect Githurai 45 and State House Road areas between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Customers in Githurai 45, Co-op Bank, Naivas, Kingdon Sacco, Mt Kenya Kassmatt, Kwa DO, Mukinye, Mwiki School, Kimbo Police, Farmers Choice, parts of Clay City and adjacent areas will experience the outage.

Those along State House Road, part of Dennis Pritt, Kitale Lane, Likoni Lane, St George’s School, Total Dennis Pritt, Royal Media, Shell Dennis, part of Cotton Avenue, Maalim Juma Road, part of Rose Avenue and nearby establishments will also be affected.

In Uasin Gishu County, the maintenance will target Kimumu and Buffalo Millers areas between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Other affected zones include Sinai, Probation, Kambi Nairobi and adjacent customers. Kenya Power noted that the planned work in this region aims to improve service reliability and address intermittent faults reported in recent weeks.

Meanwhile, in Isiolo County, the outage will affect customers around the Airport and Tank Battalion areas from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The affected localities include Mwangaza Water Supply, Airport, Kandebe Market, 78 Tank Battalion, Kambi Sharrif, Osman Ndima, Ntulele Primary School, Kisima Borehole and surrounding customers.
