KCSE administrators in Rongai Sub-County in Nakuru had a difficult time on Tuesday trying to convince a candidate at Ngata Girls’ High School to sit the national test.

The student declined to write the exam, saying she wasn’t adequately prepared, and had decided to register for the 2020 KCSE.

The teenager said the main reason why she wasn’t prepared to sit this year’s exam was that she got a baby three months ago, and learning how to parent consumed a lot of her time.

Attempts to convince her to give answers to whatever she knew in the test bore no fruit, as she told off the exam administrators.

Rongai Deputy County Commissioner, Julius Kavita, told K24 Digital that following the girl’s decision, he was forced to write a formal letter to the County Director of Education explaining why the candidate declined to take the test.

Kavita refuted allegations that Ngata Girls’ High School principal “intentionally denied the candidate” the opportunity to write the exam.
