Mandera Governor Ali Roba has reshuffled his chief officers to boost service delivery.

A statement signed by Mandera Chief of Staff David Ohito said livestock and fisheries Chief Officer Shamsi Mohamud will assume an additional role as the acting chief officer for the agriculture docket.

Ms. Zeituni Abdishakur who previously served in the governor’s office has been moved to the youth affairs docket.

Mr. Abukar Sheikh who served as the agriculture chief officer and was serving in an acting capacity as chief officer for medical services has been confirmed to the position.

Ms. Fahriya Alinoor Shabure moves from the youth affairs docket to gender and social services.

Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Abdi will now be in charge of the revenue services docket after serving as the gender and social services chief officer.

The changes, Mr Ohito said, are meant to align the Mandera government with the governor’s vision and to render better services to the people of Mandera County.

The governor stressed the need to ensure improved service delivery to the public by the State Officers saying they must ensure they meet performance targets that translate to demonstrable results.

Governor Roba, Mr Ohito said, wished the officers success in their new duties.

The changes take effect immediately.

This is the second reshuffle since the chief officers were appointed in 2018.
