Governor Nassir mourns Pwani Oil founder Naresh Malde

In a heartfelt condolence message issued via his official X account on the night of Wednesday, October 29, 2025, Governor Nassir described Malde as a visionary industrialist whose contributions to Kenya’s manufacturing and economic landscape will be remembered for generations.
Nassir went ahead to state that Malde’s life and work embodied the spirit of enterprise and community upliftment, noting that his leadership transformed Pwani Oil from a modest local company into one of Kenya’s most successful manufacturing firms.
“It is with deep sadness that we learn of the passing of Naresh Malde, founder of Pwani Oil Products Limited, who recently passed on. Mr Malde’s visionary leadership built a home-grown company that not only created jobs but also reinforced the Coast region’s reputation as a hub of enterprise and innovation. His commitment to industry, community and philanthropy will be long remembered and honoured,” he stated.

According to an official statement seen by K24 Digital on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, Pwani Oil described Malde as a visionary leader whose legacy will forever shape the organization’s identity.
“It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of our esteemed founder, Mr. Naresh Malde,” the company’s statement read in part.
“This loss is deeply felt throughout our organization, as Mr. Naresh played an instrumental role in the establishment and growth of Pwani Oil Products.”
