By , July 9, 2025

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has revealed a list of top politicians allied to his DCP party that the government is planning to link the violent scenes witnessed during Saba Saba demonstrations with.

Speaking during a presser on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, the politician opined that President Ruto’s regime has plans to blame the violence and anarchy in the country on certain individuals. especially from Mt. Kenya and its environs.

The revelation comes after MP Gitonga Mukunji was arrested following the Saba Saba protest on Monday, July 7, 2025, over allegations of fueling the protest witnessed during the clashes.

Politicians targeted

“There is a clear indication that Ruto is working with governors and politicians allied to him to destroy businesses owned by Kikuyu, Embu, and Meru, and blame it on people who do not support his administration. This is a tactic used by the colonial administrators,” he revealed.

“We know in Meru, they want to use this mayhem to blame Mithika Linturi. In Embu, they have already blamed Mukinji. In Kitengela and Ngong, they are targeting Senator Seki and MP Onesmus Ngogoyo. In Nyeri, they are trying to haunt Kaguchia, and in Kirinyaga, they are targeting Senator Murango,” he stated.

Gachagua’s sentiments come after he also claimed the existence of a covert killer squad, comprising 101 elite officers.

He asserts that the squad was secretly constituted from officers within the Administration Police Service (APS) and taken through specialised training allegedly orchestrated by the National Intelligence Service (NIS).

Killer Squad

“This squad of 101 people was formed when I was still in government. The officers were recruited from the Administration Police unit for special training by the NIS on abductions, killings, and cover-ups,” he stated.

He further claimed that the unit operates under the direct command of NIS Director General Noordin Haji and is not affiliated with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), despite appearing to be.

“The National Intelligence Service has procured unmarked Subaru vehicles to create the false impression that this killer gang is part of the DCI. The truth is, this has nothing to do with DCI,” Gachagua emphasised.
