The succession battle for Fidel Odinga’s estate has taken another twist after the mother of his alleged twins who were allegedly sired out of wedlock objected to the court-ordered DNA test.

In court papers filed by the woman, her lawyer John Swaka said she is against the taking of the DNA test which was ordered by Justice Aggrey Muchelule last week.

The woman said she is the only one who knows the father of her twins and that the DNA will negatively affect her twins psychologically and dehumanize them.

Through her lawyer, the woman said she is not interested in the estate of the late Fidel and that Ida is using her twins to fight Lwam.

Her lawyer told K24 Digital that the woman was neither a second wife to Fidel nor a lover, they were just friends.

Further, she claimed that Ida has never seen the twins nor supported them, and that the Odinga family has not been part of the twins’ lives.

She applied to be enjoined as an interested party in the case pitting Fidel’s widow, Lwam, and her in-laws, Ida Odinga and Winnie Odinga.

“The petition is marred with ill and malicious motives creating a tussle with the deceased’s widow on one side and the deceased mother and siblings on the other side,” said her lawyer in the court affidavit dated October 18, 2019.

The woman told the court that her children have been left in between warring parties and wants an opportunity to clear the air and give her position on the matter.

Justice Muchelule ordered the DNA test as a pre-condition before continuing with the succession case in which the Odinga’s want to be granted letters of administration alongside Lwam.

When she objected to the Odinga’s request, Lwam said they had not included the twins’ birth certificates.

But the twins’ mother said she had attached their birth certificates in her affidavits.
