A family in Kasarani, Nairobi is seeking justice after their kin died a day after leaving a police station.

Mr Genton Mbuba had been detained at Kasarani Police Station and CCTV footage retrieved from the house, where he is also the building’s caretaker, showed him collapsing shortly after he was set free.

Mbuba was arrested by the police on December 23. He was released on December 24 and on the 25 his body was found in City Mortuary, Nairobi.

His family ordered a postmortem that revealed Mbuba died from head trauma inflicted by a blunt object.

The deceased’s sister, Hannet Murugi, said that her brother may have been attacked while at the station.

Further, Murugi said that her brother was not suffering from any medical condition and now wants the police to explain what caused his sudden death.

“My brother was doing well even the last time we were together he was okay. The postmortem results are really shocking,” she said.
