Drama in Mbeere North as Justin Muturi engages in near fistfight with resident
By Ascah Mwango, November 27, 2025Drama was witnessed in Mbeere North after former Attorney General Justin Muturi engaged in a near fistfight with a resident moments after casting his vote in the ongoing by-elections.
The incident took place on Thursday, November 27, 2025, near Siakago Social Hall.
The incident follows another tense moment after Muturi kicked out an agent representing the United Democratic Alliance candidate, Leonard Wa Muthende.
According to Muturi, the agent was ejected for wearing yellow clothing, which is one of the official colours of the UDA party. He argued that it is against election rules for anyone to wear party colours within the polling station area.
Speaking to local media after the confrontation, Muturi said that the individual involved was Chinga Ward MCA Kiruga Thuku. He insisted that the law is clear on what agents and observers should wear during elections.
“It is disappointing and telling that those who should be defending the law are the same ones breaking it. An MCA from Nyeri, Karuga, travelled all the way to Siakago dressed in full UDA party colours, right inside a polling centre. This is illegal. Election Day is not a campaign stage, and polling stations are not theatres for party branding. I made it very clear, not here, not today. He was removed from the station as required. The law stands. The law must be obeyed,” he said.

“We have told him you cannot come to the polling area when you are donning party colours. If he is an authorised agent or even an observer, he must come wearing other kinds of clothes, not come wearing party colours,” Muturi added.
