About 50 ward representatives reportedly spent the night in the Nairobi County Assembly ahead of today’s passing of budget for City Hall and the Nairobi Metropolitan Services.

Speaking to Milele FM on Thursday morning, Jubilee Majority Leader Charles Thuo claimed that they decided to sleepover after receiving information that a section of MCAs would be blocked from entering the assembly.

Thuo, who serves as the Dandora MCA, said they were tipped off of plans to prevent entering the assembly ward reps who support the passing of the Sh36.3 billion proposed budget.

The budget allocates a huge chunk, Sh27.3 billion to the NMS, and only Sh9 billion to the Nairobi County.

Thuo claimed a faction of MCAs led by the former Majority Leader Abdi Guyo want the budget for NMS halved.
