DCP youth leader Wanjiku Thiga reveals Gachagua’s weakness

Speaking to one of the local radio stations on Friday, August 8, 2025, Wanjiku Thiga said Gachagua is a leader who is both strict and highly principled, but he has little patience for incompetence.
Gachagua’s weakness
She described him as someone who values results above everything else and does not shy away from confronting those who fall short of their responsibilities.
According to Wanjiku, Gachagua’s leadership style is deeply rooted in accountability.
“Truly, Gachagua is a truthful man. What you see on camera is the same on the ground. He is truly offering mentorship to young leaders,” she said, emphasising that he leads by example and expects the same commitment from his team.
She explained that while many politicians often portray a polished image for the cameras, Gachagua remains consistent both in public and behind the scenes.
His interactions with young leaders, she said, are focused on building capacity, instilling discipline, and ensuring that they take their roles seriously.
Wanjiku noted that working with Gachagua is not for the faint-hearted.
“He is very strict when it comes to results. You must be a driven, hardworking person because the task must be done at the end of the day,” she said.
The results above excuse
She pointed out that when Gachagua assigns a task, it must be completed without delays or excuses.
In her view, this insistence on delivering on promises has helped him maintain high performance within his circles.
However, it is also the very trait that can create friction between him and individuals who are not willing to put in the work.
“You will collide with him when you show any form of laziness,” she remarked, noting that this intolerance for laxity is what some might perceive as his weakness.
For Wanjiku, however, this quality is more of a leadership strength that ensures no one under his watch slacks off.
