Kenya’s COVID-19 cases crossed the 10,000 mark on Sunday about four months since the virus was first reported in the country.

In a statement on Sunday, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe announced that 379 more people tested positive for coronavirus.

The new cases, CS Kagwe said, were confirmed from a sample of 7,050 tested over the last 24 hours.

The number of recoveries also rose to 2,881 as 49 more patients were discharged from hospital.

However, the death toll climbed to 185 after one more patient succumbed to the virus.
