The number of people with Covid-19 in Kenya keeps on rising each day as eight more people tested positive for the coronavirus disease on Tuesday.
Health Chief Administrative Secretary, Dr. Mercy Mwangangi, said that they tested 694 samples in the last 24 hours out of which the eight coronavirus cases were confirmed.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 216, with the 21 counties now affected.
According to the information released by the Ministry of Health, Nairobi County leads the virus count with 101 cases, Mombasa 34 and Kilifi 10.
Dr. Mwangangi said that the coronavirus is now domiciled across the length and breadth of the country but with the majority of the cases in Nairobi County.
The Health CAS said the majority of those who have contracted the virus in Kenya are overwhelmingly the most productive members of society.
Further, the government has identified clusters for the rollout of mass testing with those targeted including Kibra slum in Nairobi and Siaya County.
