By , August 13, 2025

Kamukunji Constituency Member of Parliament (MP) Yusuf Hassan has credited the current good mood in the country to the recent CHAN victories by Harambee Stars players.

Speaking during an interview with one of the local TV stations on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, the lawmaker insisted that Kenyans are happiest when things work the way they are supposed to.

“It has been a great moment for us. A moment of excitement. The football team is a unifying force,” Hassan said.

Moreover, he praised the players for their performance and commitment on the pitch.

“Our players have done a fantastic job; they have played nicely,” he added.

Praise for FKF

In addition, Hassan took time to commend the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) for their role in supporting the team.

“The FKF has done a good job,” he said, noting that the success has brought together people from different walks of life.

He observed that the country is enjoying a rare sense of unity, which is valuable in a time when positive news can lift national morale.

According to Hassan, such achievements go beyond sports; they inspire hope and pride. Thus, he urged that credit be given to everyone who contributed to the victories.

“I think they need to be congratulated,” he remarked.

Tackling ticket issues

However, the MP also addressed concerns over ticket sales during matches. He acknowledged that selling tickets illegally is a problem, yet he explained it is not unique to Kenya.

“Selling tickets illegally is a practice that exists in the world, even at Premier League matches,” Hassan said.

He suggested that while measures should be taken to curb the vice, it should not overshadow the joy of the moment.

Consequently, he urged stakeholders to focus on sustaining the positive momentum created by the team’s performance.

Abdi concluded by reminding Kenyans that supporting sports is one of the simplest ways to strengthen national unity.

Therefore, he encouraged fans to continue rallying behind the Harambee Stars in upcoming fixtures, both at home and abroad.
