A total of 95 people, three of them healthcare workers based in Nyeri County, have tested positive for coronavirus.
Making the announcement during the daily Covid-19 briefings in Nairobi, Health Cabinet Secretary, Dr. Rashid Aman, said that 92 of the new cases are Kenyans while three are foreigners.
This now brings to total the number of infections in the country to 2,862 with 98,439 samples tested so far.
The Health CAS also revealed that one Covid-19 patient succumbed to the virus in Nairobi, pushing total fatalities in Kenya to 85.
In Mombasa County where the majority of the cases were confirmed, Mvita led with 56 followed by Changamwe with 13, Nyali, 7, Kisauni 6, and Jomvu 3.
Kibra Constituency led in Nairobi with 10 cases while Langata, Dagoretti North and Kasarani recorded one case each.
Dr. Aman revealed that Busia had 10 cases — nine of them at Malaba and one at Busia border point, Kajiado 6, Kilifi 3 while Kitui, Kwale, Garissa and Marsabit had one case each.
The total number of counties that have now reported a positive coronavirus case now stands at 38 after the first case was confirmed in Marsabit County.
