Wilson Airport to be affected by 8-hour blackout on Thursday – Kenya Power

Kenya Power issued a notice informing Kenyans of power interruptions in select parts of the country on Thursday, February 1, 2024.

The utility firm in a notice on its website said that the power interruption is necessary to facilitate maintenance and upgrade power lines to the network.

The utility firm noted that the Thursday power interruptions will affect Nairobi, Kajiado, Busia, Uasin Gishu and Meru Counties.

Kenya Power said parts of Nairobi County will be in blackout for eight long hours, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The areas affected include; T-Mall, Moi Education, Kogo Flats, Kenya School of Blind, Magaribi Place, Quick Estate, Space Apartments, Wilson Airport, AMREF, Weston Hotel, Langata Primary, Sunshine School, Dam Estate, Langata Prisons, Telkoms and adjacent customers.

Parts of Kajiado County will experience power outages from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The areas affected include; Maxwell University, Acacia Estate, Olekasunda, Magenche, Exciting, Kimandiro, Total Area, Laiser Hill, Nairobi Women Hospital, Fatima South, North, Part of Kware, Tuskys, Kingdom Hall, Wama Hospital, Rongai Town, Sinai Hospital and adjacent customers.

Parts of Busia County will experience power interruptions from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The affected areas include; Amase Primary School, Polytechnic & Dispensary, Among’ura, Asing’tt, Kakoli, Omoloi, Ospata, Ng’elechom and adjacent customers.

Parts of Uasin Gishu county will be in blackout from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The areas affected include; Cheplaskei, Outspan, Oletepes, Kimuri, Kabongo, Lelmokwo, Sigoit, Chepkemei, Ndalat, Sangalo Tea Factory, Mlango, Taborwa, St. Brigit, Chepkemei and adjacent customers.

Parts of Meru County will not have electricity from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The areas affected include; Meru Prisons, Sayern Super, Milimani Mewass, Milimani Hon Rahim’s Residence, Police Station, AP Line, Karen Hospital, Meru Referral Hospital, Kooje, Mwiriene, Law Court, County National Assembly, Post Office, Alba Hotel, Slopes Hotel, Royal Prince, Bradegate, Equity Bank Town, Prestige Hotel, ABSA Bank, Hart Towers, ABC Bank, Co-op Bank, Magunas Supermarket, Maathai Supermarket, Society Sacco Super, Central Bank, KCB Bank, Family Bank, Meru Central, Diamond Trust, Gakoromone, Kirunga, Shell Petrol Station, Mwariama Station, Mwalimu Mixed, Meru Girls, Prof Kaimenyi Residence, Kiambogo C/F, Thimaniti, Mulathankari, Thuura C/F, Mukongorone Primary School, Mbeu, Kamukara, Kambi Ya Nyanyua, Rwanyange, Kabaone Ndurumo, New Macadamia Factory Giaki, Giaki Girls, Bat, Kibuline, Mikundu, Ciothirai, Mbirikene, Giaki Police Camp, Kiangombe, Ndekero, Ndiine, Thuura Secondary and adjacent customers.
