A speculative and undated video of gospel artiste Samuel Ilagosa alias Ilagosa wa Ilagosa who passed on Friday, February 3 has emerged.

The video shows him sitting in a car claiming someone tried to poison him.

In the video, the ‘Sala Zangu‘ hit singer proclaims that he shall not die but will live to spread the gospel.

Ati anakaribu kunimaliza nisimhubiri yesu. Ati mtu mzima ananipoison na anasimama kwa alter. My friend mimi ni mbegu ya yesu na siwezi isha I will preach Jesus. Mimi ni mbegu ya yesu sifi,” he is heard saying.

Ilagosa who hails from Vihiga County has been a gospel musician for a while and has shared the stage with renowned gospel artist like Solomon Mukubwa and worked with Jane Atieno.

News of his death has been received with shock by fellow musicians including Emmy Kosgei.

According to his friend identified as Musalia Mudambi, Ilagosa passed on after being unwell for two months but did not share more about the cause of his death.

He said he died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Nairobi.

‘He has been unwell for about a month now and I am trying to reach to his family so that I get more information on the cause of his death,’’ Mudambi stated.

His death comes barely a year after the burial of his mother.

In a past interview, he observed that he had a calling to minister through the gospel.

‘‘I am prophet Ilagosa, called by the Lord and out to preach His gospel through music,’’ Ilagosa said.

The alumnus of Kakamega high school and the University of Nairobi says he was inspired to join gospel music by late gospel songbird Angela Chibalonza who employed him after school.
