Suspect in murder of Rongo University Student arrested

Police have arrested the main suspect in the murder of a Rongo University student.

In a statement on Friday, November 3, 2023, the National Police Service announced that they had arrested Titus Limangura in connection with the murder of Abel Chumba, a Third Year student at Rongo University.

“Police in Rongo yesterday arrested a suspect, one Titus Limangura in connection with the murder of Abel Chumba, his fellow male third year student at Rongo University,” the police stated.

According to the police, preliminary investigations show that the student succumbed to his injuries at the Tabaka Mission Hospital after he was stabbed in the stomach by the suspect on Thursday, November 2, 2023.

The journalism student was stabbed in a fight that occurred on Wednesday, November 1, 2023.

“On behalf of the students’ fraternity, I wish to convey our deepest sympathy and condolences to his family and relatives. May the Lord give them the strength to overcome this challenge,” the Dean of Students Ben Asugo stated.

The cause of the conflict is yet to be established.
