Kenya Power has announced a planned power outage scheduled for Sunday, April 28, 2024, according to a notice posted on its website.
The interruption is essential to facilitate maintenance and upgrades to the power lines within the network, as stated by the utility firm.
“Notice is hereby given under Rule 27 of the Electric Power Rules that the electricity supply will be interrupted as here under: (It is necessary to interrupt supply periodically to facilitate maintenance and upgrade of power lines to the network; to connect new customers or to replace power lines during construction, etc.),” Kenya Power said.
The utility firm noted that the Sunday power interruption will affect Nairobi, Kajiado, Kisumu, Bungoma and Siaya Counties.
Nairobi
Kenya Power said that parts Dandora and Mwiki in Nairobi County will be in blackout for eight hours, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The affected places include; Kenafric Industries, Ngumba Est, KBL Houses, Lucky Summer, GPOBA Korogocho, Dandora Phase 2 & 3, Mwiki, Safaricom Mwiki, Sunton Police Post, Sunton Est, Gituamba, Kenyatta Farm & adjacent customers.
Kajiado
Areas: Ngong, Kibiko, Ngong Vet. Time: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Places to be affected: Oloolaiser High Sch, Whole of Kibiko, Kimuka, Oloshoibor, Saikeri, Ngong Town, Ngong Hills Milimani, Kengen, Civil Aviation, Zambia, Scheme 305, Elpaso, Olepolos, Juanco Vet Farm, Kangawa, Whole of Kerarapon, Bulbul Bondeni, Masai Rd, Dedan Rhino Lekkurukki, Summer Drive, Kahara Shopping Centre, Muthaiga, Olkeri, Ololua SGR, Parts of Gataka, Ololua DC, Imani & adjacent customers.
