Two people have badly been injured after a saloon car lost control hitting smokie vendors outside Kangaru school in Embu county.

According to eyewitnesses, the speeding vehicle heading to Embu town from Mutunduri along Embu -Meru Highway lost control and hit smokie vendors outside the school which is hosting the regional secondary schools’ games.

The witnesses said it was drizzling when the accident occurred.

“The car was driving at a high speed heading to Embu town and upon reaching here in Kangaru, it fired off the road and hit two people who were selling smokies by the roadside,” a witness said.

Locals rushed to the scene to rescue the duo who are currently receiving treatment at Embu level 5 hospital.

The vehicle was towed to Embu police station pending further investigations.
