Manhunt for Kajiado remandee intensifies

Detectives in Kajiado County have intensified the search for a remandee that escaped on Sunday evening.

The suspect was in the company of six others while being escorted to the Kajiado referral hospital for a covid test before he managed to mysteriously escape despite there being an officer escorting them.

20-year-old Jesse Laboso had been sentenced over stock theft.

He is said to have managed to slip his hands off the handcuff which he was handcuffed with another remandee.

Labaso escaped while being bundled into a waiting police lorry where he was scheduled to be taken to Kajiado prison to begin serving his sentence.

Elsewhere, a 30-year-old woman who was murdered by her lover at Langata has today been laid to rest at her parents home in Ilbisil, Kajiado County amid calls for justice.

Family and friends painfully mourned Muthoni Naneu as a charming, outgoing, ambitious and fashionista who easily mingled and bonded with people.

Muthoni was found murdered at Onyoka Estate in Langata on November 15, 2022, after going missing for two days.

Police reports indicate that her body had deep cuts on the forehead with blood oozing from the nose.

The scene had blood splattered on the wall and on the floor with clear signs of a struggle.

The boyfriend, Thomas Mbugua Muthee who has since been arrested is being detained for 14 days to allow further investigations.

Speaker after speaker led by area Member of Parliament Elijah Memusi appealed to the relevant authority to ensure justice prevails.
