PSC announces 231 job vacancies

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has today announced 231 vacancies for positions at various ministries and state departments.

In a notice shared via their official Twitter page, the commission is seeking to recruit 125 immigration officers, 20 chemists, 18 laboratories technologists, 4 assets management officers, 8 wildlife officers, 40 land valuers, 10 geo management information officers, 1 engineer, 1 shipping and maritime officer, 2 air transport officers- and 2 road and rail transport officers.

Interested and qualified candidates have been urged to submit their applications on or before February 27, 2023, by 5 pm.

The applications are required to be made online through the commission’s official website www.publicservice.go.ke or the jobs portal www.psck.go.ke.

“Applications are invited from qualified persons for the positions shown below….The details of the posts and mode of application can be accessed on the commission’s website,” the notice reads in parts.

“Interested and qualified persons are required to make their application online through the commission’s website or jobs portal,” the notice added.

Another vacancy

The commission also announced a vacancy for a government spokesperson position.

To qualify for an appointment, interested candidates must be a citizen of Kenya, and have a bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, communications and studies, social sciences or equivalent qualifications from a university recognised in Kenya.

Other qualifications are that the candidate must have served a minimum of fifteen years as a media or communication practitioner, be fluent in both spoken and written English and Kiswahili, be a member of a relevant professional body and be in good standing.

“Possession of a Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Mass communication, communication studies, Information Sciences, Public Relations, Journalism, Media Studies, Social or equivalent qualifications from a University recognised in Kenya will be considered as an advantage,” the notice added.

Upon qualification for an interview, shortlisted candidates will be required to produce originals of their National Identity cards, academic professional certificates and transcripts during interviews.

Interested and qualified candidates have been urged to apply through the commission’s website.
