Planned blackout to affect 4 Counties on Thursday

A power outage scheduled for Thursday, May 2, 2024, is set to impact four Counties across Kenya, according to the latest announcement from Kenya Power.

The blackout, which is planned for maintenance purposes, will affect several areas at different times of the day.

The outage, while temporary, is expected to impact various sectors and activities in the affected Counties.

Kenya Power said that the Thursday power interruption will affect Nairobi, Samburu, Nyeri and Kilifi Counties.

Nairobi

Area: Peponi. Time: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Places affected: Part of Peponi Rd, Spring Valley Crescent, Spring Valley Rd, Ola Energy Peponi Rd, Peponi View Plaza & adjacent customers.

Samburu

Area: Whole of Maral Town. Time: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Places affected: Posta, Mugie Ranch, Churo, Tangulbei, Suguta Mar Mar, Kisima Centers, Whole of Maralal Town, Maralal Water Supply, Maralal Referral Hosp, Milimani, Poro, Loosuk, Sirata Centers, Poro Radar Stn & adjacent customers.

Nyeri

Area: Kiriani, Kamune. Time: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Places affected: Gatugu, Kiriaini Town, Munaini DC’s Office, Kamacharia, Kagumoini, Diara C/Fact, Kanjama, Kora, Kamune, Iruri, Thuita, Kiaga C/Fact, Karuthi C/Fact & Sec, Geitwa, Kariki, Giathugu Iruri Sec, Mairo Mkt, Whole of Witima, Umbui Pri, Gikira Hydro Auxiliary & adjacent customers.

Kilifi

Area: Kilifi Plantation Time: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Places affected: Kilifi Plantation, Safaricom Mast & adjacent customers.
