Most parts of the country to experience sunny intervals – weatherman

The Kenya Meteorological Department has announced that most parts of the country will experience sunny intervals.

In a statement, the weatherman said there will be a significant reduction in rainfall across different regions.

However, areas within the Western, Rift Valley, Central Kenya and the Lake Victoria Basin regions will experience occasional rainfall.

“Sunny intervals are expected across most parts of the country, with a significant reduction in rainfall likely across various regions. However, occasional rainfall is also expected, particularly in Western, Rift Valley, Central Kenya, and the Lake Victoria Basin 🌦️ #WeatherUpdate,” the statement reads in parts.

A five-day forecast shared by the met department also disclosed that Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia and West Pokot Counties will experience sunny mornings and maximum temperatures varying from 31 to 32 degrees.

Similarly, the Highlands West of Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley region will also be characterised with the aforementioned patterns with a minimum temperature of between 15 and 17 degrees.

According to the weatherman, the Highlands East of the Rift Valley including Nairobi, Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, and Tharaka Nithi counties will have cloudy breaking into sunny intervals.

The mentioned areas will also have showers in a few high-ground areas and partly cloudy nights with maximum temperatures ranging between 25 and 26 degrees.

Areas in the North Eastern region such as Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo Counties will experience sunny intervals in the mornings and afternoons with clouds partly.

Similarly, Mombasa, Tana River, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale Counties will experience sunny intervals in the mornings and afternoons with showers over a few places in the afternoon.

Counties in the Southeastern lowlands region such as Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado and Taita Taveta will have sunny mornings and afternoons and partly cloudy nights.
