Lawyer Miguna Miguna has poked holes in the ongoing vetting exercise for Cabinet Secretary nominees saying the process is wanting.
The Canada-based barrister said on Tuesday, October 18, that he has not seen any critical examination from the Parliamentary Committee of Appointments.
Miguna said what he has seen and heard so far, from the MPs, are soundbites intended to ‘please their political masters’.
“What Members of Parliament are engaged in is not vetting. I’ve not seen any careful and critical examination of any of the Cabinet Secretary nominees. All I see and hear are soundbites intended to please the run-away conman. Please, MPs, raise your standards of interrogation,” Miguna said in a tweet.

Miguna made the observations following the vetting of five nominees on Monday.
The nominees include Musalia Mudavadi (Prime Cabinet Secretary), Justin Muturi (Attorney General), Aden Duale (Defence), Alfred Mutua (Foreign Affairs) and Alice Wahome (Water and Sanitation).
Five other leaders are scheduled to face the panel today. They are National Treasury CS nominee Prof. Njuguna Ndung’u, Aisha Jumwa (Public Service and Gender), David Chirchir (Energy) and Moses Kuria (Trade, Investment & Industry).
