A middle-aged man claiming to be an alumna of Moi University was on Thursday, November 3 charged before Milimani Law Courts for attempting to secure a loan from Finance Bank Limited using forged documents.

Gerald Lumuchele is said to have walked into the bank in June this year and attempted to use a fake Second Class Honours, Upper Division Degree in Computer Science from Moi University to apply for a loan.

It is said that the forged documents were revealed by the bank security department upon search of the said serial number appearing in the certificates as it was confirmed that the digits did not appear from the university database.
