A 45-year-old man took his own life after a domestic wrangle in Korogocho, Nairobi on Thursday, September 15, 2022.

A police report seen by K24 Digital indicates that Chris Mango Odhiambo ended his life, a week after his wife left their matrimonial home with their children following a protracted disagreement.

The bitter man left behind a suicide note cursing the wife for his marital woes.

Body discovered at a house in Korogocho

The body of Odhiambo was discovered by the wife and children who were then living with a relative within the Korogocho area.

The family had returned to pick up their personal belongings when they discovered the body dangling from the roof.

Earlier, Odhiambo’s 10-year-old son had visited him to ask for money for food and collect personal items but found the door locked from the inside.

Concerned, the boy went back to the relative’s house and called the mother.

The two then peeped through the window and saw the body of the deceased hanging from the roof with a rope on his neck.

The family raised an alarm attracting the attention of neighbours who helped them break into the house.

In a suicide note recovered from the house, the man chastised his wife telling her ‘they will meet in heaven’.

“The two differed on Friday last week over domestic issues and the wife moved out with the children. Later, the kids went back to the father’s house to pick households but did not find him.

“The ten-year-old son went the following morning to inquire about money for food from the father who did not respond despite knocking on the door severally,” the police report read in part.

Odhiambo’s body was moved to the City morgue awaiting a postmortem and further probe.
