A woman who is accused of killing and feeding on the remains of her two-year-old daughter will now be detained for ten more days, a Kajiado court has ruled.

The suspect, Olivia Naseren appeared before Chief Magistrate Jane Kamau who ordered the detention to allow room for investigations.

She is accused of stabbing her baby Glory Njeri before feeding on her intestines and kidney.

Prior to the incident, Naseren is said to have locked herself in her house playing with the baby when she abruptly became violent and began breaking household items.

The commotion attracted neighbours who helplessly watched the mother stab the deceased countless times since the door was locked from the inside.

They called the police who managed to break into the house. They found the woman unconscious.

“Juvenile aged two years old was sliced by the mother into pieces, and she later fed on her intestines the suspect was found at the scene unconscious and escorted to the Kitengela Sub-county Hospital for treatment,” a police report seen by K24 Digital reads in part.

“Neighbours were attracted by noise from her house and they rushed into her room where they found she had locked herself inside alongside the minor. She began by breaking her TV set before she picked her baby whom she stabbed more than 100 times as neighbours watched in disbelief. She later dismembered her body and began eating the deceased body parts.” the report added.

The case will be heard on May 8, 2023.
