Kibaki’s sister dies aged 115

Esther Waitherero, the sister of the late former president Mwai Kibaki has died at the age of 115.

Her son Francis Githinji who confirmed her demise noted that Waitherero passed away at her home in Gatuyaini, Othaya on Thursday morning, July 13, 2022, after a short illness.

She is survived by four children; three sons and a daughter.

Waitherero who was the only surviving sibling of the late Kibaki recently expressed that she was saddened by the death of her brother, who died in April 2022.

At the time of his demise, Kibaki was the only surviving former president after the second president Daniel Moi died in 2020.

He was survived by four children, Judy Wanjiku, Jimmy Kibaki, David Kagi and Tony Githinji.
