The Judiciary has issued a notice informing Kenyans of an outage on its e-filing system.
In their statement shared via their various social media platforms, the body apologised for the inconvenience caused and appreciated Kenyans for their patience and understanding.
The body also advised that all applications under Certificate of Urgency and time-bound pleadings be forwarded through the respective court stations’ email addresses.
“We are experiencing a system intermittent outage on our e-filing system. The technical team is working around the clock to ensure full system restoration. For applications under Certificate of urgency and time-bound pleadings, forward the same through the respective court stations’ email addresses and copy to [email protected] for processing.
“We apologize for the inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience and understanding. For inquiries, please contact us through [email protected] or [email protected],”
The body has assured Kenyans that they are working round the clock to ensure the system is fully restored.

e-filing system
The e-filing system was rolled out in March this year.
Speaking during the launch of the program, Chief Justice Martha Koome hailed the initiative saying it will allow lawyers to file cases and access court documents electronically without having to visit courts.
The CJ additionally underscored that the implementation of the program had marked a significant milestone in the body’s efforts to promote efficiency.
“E-filing allows for remote case filing, offering a convenient platform for legal practitioners and the public to engage with the justice system online, thereby improving accessibility, efficiency, and inclusivity,” the CJ said.
“The Causelist Portal is an innovative, public-facing platform that has been seamlessly integrated with our Case Tracking System (CTS). This integration allows for real-time updates and easy access to cause lists, which are schedules of cases to be heard in court on any given day,” she added.
Koome further reiterated the Judiciary’s commitment to enhance internet connectivity at all court stations to ensure that the program is reliable.
“With the establishment of a pilot transcription centre, we are set to offer transcription services across the country, aiming to alleviate the workload on our judges and judicial officers and expedite the hearing process,” she added.
