Uncollected passports
A fortnight ago, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki, while issuing a directive for the issuance and delivery of passports during the launch of Rapid Result Initiative (RRI), warned that passports must be collected within 30 days of issuance, failure to which they will be disposed of.
Kindiki warned that passports that would not have been collected after the expiry of the 30-day notice would be treated as uncollected documents and disposed of.
“Those that will not collect as scheduled after the expiry of the notice will be treated as uncollected documents and we will dispose of them,” Kindiki said.
The Cabinet Secretary warned that applicants whose passports would be disposed of would also be required to reapply and pay an undisclosed fine.
