Three people were on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, arrested after breaking and stealing at Skyline Kenya godown along Butere road in the Industrial area of Nairobi.

According to a police report seen by K24 Digital, officers received intelligence information that there were robbers who had broken into the godown.

They then spotted one of the suspects who was jumping a 14-meter wall on the Habib bank side and they sprained his leg to prevent him from escaping.

“Following reports that there was suspected breaking and stealing at skyline Kenya godown, officers went to the scene and spotted Paul Ndung’u aged 45 jumping a 14 meters wall on the side of Habib bank and sprained his leg,” the police report read in part.

Ndung’u then led the officers to where his accomplices had hidden and the officers managed to shoot two of them who were running away from being arrested.

The two were identified as Thomas Kiminza, 61, who was shot in the hand while 48-year-old James Kamau was shot in the legs and Muchiri Mwangi,53, who was not injured.

Preliminary investigations by the police indicated that James Kamau was in communications with the mastermind who lives in Gikomba.

The three also coordinated with one of the Securex officers in the control room who were guarding the premises and putting off the alarms at the Kenya wines to prevent any distractions.

The officers recovered thirty cartons of bearings which they stole and a Mazda pick up which they were to use to ferry the stolen goods.

“They coordinated with Mogaga from Securex officers who were guarding the premises to switch off the alarms of Kenya wines to avoid sending signals. Officers recovered 30 cartons of bearings which had been stolen and a motor vehicle Mazda pick-up white in colour registration number KBP 190Y used to ferry the stolen goods.”

The injured suspects were taken to Kenyatta National Hospital where they are currently receiving treatment as the police continue with the investigations.
