Police have launched investigations into an incident where traffic officers were engaging a motorist in a wild chase.

In a video that has since gone viral across social media platforms, the traffic officers in a National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) branded car are seen trying to block the miscreant motorist before engaging in a dramatic chase.

The motorist who was driving a white car was seen snubbing the officers who were flagging him down on the unnamed road.

“Attention of NPS is drawn to a clip in which a law enforcement patrol vehicle performing traffic duties is seen in a hot pursuit chase of a private saloon car,” the NPS stated.

“We acknowledge that the essence of road safety is to promote sanity and responsibility whilst on public roads,” they added.

NPS affirmed that the matter was under investigation before appropriate action is taken against those found guilty.

“As we continue to review the incident for corrective action, we condemn the irresponsible behaviour,” NPS wrote.

Police who say that the act was endangering the lives of other motorists and pedestrians urged road users to follow road safety rules.

“Motorists are cautioned to at all times adhere to the rule of law to ensure their safety while on the road,” NPS added.
