Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, went on jogging through the streets of Eldoret.

The second in command, who is attending the eighth Devolution Conference in Eldoret town, said he was “doing as Romans do”, after visiting the City of Champions as Eldoret is christened.

“When you go to Rome, you do what Romans do. When you go to Eldoret, you don’t walk, you run! I enjoyed a morning jog through the streets of Eldoret town–in the true spirit of the people in the city of champions. Uasin Gishu, the Home of Champions, has been an unceasing source of world beaters and it does no harm emulating them when in their beautiful town,” Gachagua stated.

The DP, accompanied by Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii and Nyandarua Senator Methu Muhia visited the newly replenished Eldoret Arboretum during the jog.

“The walk took me through the newly replenished Eldoret arboretum which exudes glamour and freshness and is a great place to visit especially for the visitors attending the 8th Devolution Conference in the town. The view of Eldoret from the Arboretum’s watchtower is exhilarating,” he added.
