Renowned media personality Dennis Okari has announced his exit from the Nation Media Group (NMG).

The NTV news anchor and investigative reporter broke the news through his social media pages on Monday, December 5, a week after the Aga-Khan-owned media house announced plans to tweak its workforce.

Okari said it was time to move on to “something bigger and greater than myself.”

“My assignment at NTV has come to an end. I’m grateful to God for the opportunity to serve. I gave it my all but I couldn’t have done it without the help of an incredible team,” he said.

“I hope they continue to shine. It s time to move on to something bigger and greater than myself.”

Okari is the second high-profile journalist to leave the media house after Mark Masai’s exit on December 1.

Masai had worked for NMG for 14 years.

The primetime news anchor and show host said he was among journalists affected by the restructuring process and promised to bounce back stronger.

“NTV is a great team! These are different times. Was a great show. Time for a short commercial break. I’ll be back!” he announced.

“This is the reality of the media landscape around the world and unfortunately, I was at the losing end of this one.”

NMG last month attributed the ongoing restructuring to the prevailing harsh business environment.
