Meru County Assembly will proceed with the impeachment process of Governor Kawira Mwangaza without any hitches after the Court of Appeal declined to issue orders halting the same.
Appellate court judges led by Justice Luka Kimaru declined to issue conservatory orders suspending the ongoing debate on the impeachment of Mwangaza pending a court ruling on the matter on Friday.
“We will not grant the interim orders herein now. Will need to consider all the submissions made by all parties. will render the ruling on the application for conservatory orders on Friday,” the Judges ruled.
This happened as lawyer Danston Omari who is representing Mwangaza was granted two hours by Meru County Assembly Speaker Ayub Bundi to defend the Governor from impeachment.
