Popular condoms distributor Stanley Ngara aka ‘King of Condoms’ says there is a shortage of condoms in Naivasha following the Safari Rally event being held in the area.

The rally competition began on Thursday, June 23 and is set to end on Sunday, June 26.

Ngara says that the upsurge of visitors and sex workers in the town has contributed to the shortage of the commodity.

“We have managed to buy and distribute to our lovely Kenyans. The demand is very high as we are talking. The sex workers are busy,” he stated.

“Most of the businesses are now working 24 hours. I have spoken to a hotel businessman and he says his sales for condoms are very high,” Ngara has been quoted as saying.

King of condoms opts for different means

Following the predicament, Ngara stated that they had to seek the help of the Aids Healthcare Foundation (AHF) for more condoms.

“As per yesterday night (Thursday) we did a spot check and there was no sex worker on the streets. That means a lot of activities are happening here in Naivasha,” Ngara said.
