The Public Service Commission (PSC) has shortlisted 477 candidates for the recently advertised Principal Secretary (PS) jobs.

In a notice, the commission said 9,154 applicants expressed interest in the vacant posts but only 477 were shortlisted for interviews.

Some of the notable names in the list include those of politicians who unsuccessfully contested for various seats in the August 9 polls.

The politicians are former Narok Governor Isaac Tunui, former Lang’ata MP Nixon Korir and former Kitui gubernatorial candidate Jonathan Mueke.

Others are former nominated MP Isaac Mwaura and former Kisii senatorial candidate Joash Maangi.

15 PSs and Chief Administrative Secretaries (CASs) who served in the previous administration of President Uhuru Kenyatta were also shortlisted.

The PSs are Belio Kipsang (Regional and Northern Corridor Development), Susan Mochache (Health), Esther Koimett (Broadcasting and Communication), Nelson Marwa (Devolution), Saitoti Torome (Planning), Fatuma Chege (CBC), Jerome Ochieng (ICT), Fatuma Hirsi (Tourism), Kirimi Kaberia (Industrialization), Simon Nabukwesi (University Education and Research), Fatuma Hirsi (Broadcasting), Julius Ouma Jwan (Early Learning), Safina Kwekwe (Gender affairs), Simon Nabukwesi (University Education and Research) and Charles Hinga (Housing).

The CASs on the list include Mercy Mwangangi (Health), Sarah Ruto (Education) and Winnie Guchu (State Law Office).

Charles Ringera, the CEO Higher Educations Loans Board (HELB) and Mary Chebukati Wanyonyi, the wife of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairperson Wafula Chebukati, also made it to the list.

PS job interviews

PSC extended the deadline for application from September 20 to 27, 2022 to allow more people to apply for the vacant posts.

Members of the public have been urged by PSC to give their views on the suitability of the candidates to [email protected]

PSC will conduct selection interviews at its head office in Nairobi.
