Body of 2-year-old boy found in underground water tank after going missing

A two-year-old boy identified as Kudate Lemayian is said to have gone missing before being found dead while under the care of his grandmother in Narok.

In a police report, the father of the said boy Kudate Lemayian reported a missing child further indicating that the minor was with his grandmother identified as Naropil Nampaso,65, at their residence when he disappeared.

The police later visited the area and in the process, they received information that the child’s body was in an underground tank.

It was at that point that they opened the tank and retrieved the minor’s body which was found floating.

“Police officers visited the scene at k24 area map ref 187800 3km South of the station and in the process, they received the information that the body of the missing child was in the underground water tank. The said water tank was opened and the body was found floating.”

“The scene was photographed and documented by officers from the scene of the crime and the body was retrieved,” part of the report read.

Following the incident, the officers arrested five suspects to help with the investigations including; Joel Ngui Kikuyu,48, Hosea kurui,41, Augustine Wafula,28, and two hose girls Pauline Nanjala,22, and Selina Koila aged 25 years.

The minor’s body was later moved to Narok county referral hospital morgue awaiting postmortem.

The matter remains under investigation.
