Eastern and Central Kenya regions’ MPs are the best-performing MPs in Kenya, a new study by Infotrak has shown.
The two regions scored 56 per cent according to the study conducted between July and September, followed by Nyanza and Western at 55 per cent each.
The Rift Valley region was ranked fifth with 54 per cent followed by the Coastal region at 53 per cent and Nairobi at 51 per cent. North Eastern was the worst-performing region with a 49 per cent score.
Regionally, Embakasi East MP was the best-performing MP in Nairobi, Mwirigi in Eastern, Nyoro in Central, Omar Mwinyi (Changamwe) in Coast, Naisula Lesuuda (Samburu West) in Rift Valley, Husseinweitan Abdirahman (Mandera East) in North Eastern, Wangaya in Western and Kaluma in Nyanza.
Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro was ranked as the best-performing MP in Kenya with a 70 per cent score followed closely by his Kangema counterpart Peter Irungu at 68 per cent.
Infotrak carried out the survey between July and September this year, and it covered all 47 counties, 290 constituencies, and 1450 wards with an overall sample of 58,748.
This survey was conducted to determine how elected members performed within the first year since they assumed their respective offices after the 2022 elections.
