The Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli is bidding farewell to his trusted security officer as he retires.
In a statement on Saturday, February 10, Atwoli revealed that Robert Chembe had served him for two decades.
Atwoli said Chembe was going on leave before his upcoming retirement.
“Bidding farewell to my trustworthy and loyal security officer, Sergeant Robert Chembe, who has been around me for twenty years now proceeding on leave pending retirement. May God Bless Him and His Family,” Atoli stated.

Atwoli declares his wealth
In a past interview, Atwoli proudly shared his possessions, which included his two wives and 17 children.
He mentioned having two bank accounts—a savings and a current one.
Additionally, he owns 26 cows, with 15 in Khwisero and 11 in Kajiado.
Atwoli also mentioned his cars—a Mercedes Benz and a Prado—which he claimed he acquired legitimately, inviting anyone to verify this with Toyota.
He defended his wealth, stating that he has been on a salary for 52 years and earns from various international workers’ unions.
Atwoli emphasized that his wealth came from his dedication to serving workers and being sponsored for his first election by the union.
He challenged anyone to audit him.
Atwoli’s luxury homes
Atwoli’s expansive homes in Kajiado and Kakamega are no secret.
In 2022, Atwoli’s wife Mary Kilobi shared a video of herself riding a bicycle within their spacious compound in Kajiado.
The camera followed her as she pedalled along the cabro block pathways.
The expansive gardens could host large gatherings, and their two-story mansion with a dark roof stood prominently.
Additionally, Kilobi posted pictures of their elegant home in Khwisero, Kakamega.
The living room boasted modern cream-coloured furniture and stylish tiles, while the entrance featured a long staircase with a wheelchair-accessible ramp.
Similar to their Kajiado residence, this bungalow was painted white with a black roof.
