List of areas scheduled for power blackout on Tuesday

Kenya Power issued a notice informing Kenyans of a scheduled blackout on Tuesday, April 16, 2024.

The utility firm in the notice on its website said that the power interruption is necessary to facilitate maintenance and upgrade of power lines to the network.

“Notice is hereby given under Rule 27 of the Electric Power Rules that the electricity supply will be interrupted as here under: (It is necessary to interrupt supply periodically to facilitate maintenance and upgrade of power lines to the network; to connect new customers or to replace power lines during construction, etc.),” Kenya Power said.

The utility firm noted that the Tuesday power interruption will affect Nairobi and Busia Counties.

Nairobi

Parts of Nairobi County will be affected by an eight-hour blackout, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Kenya Power said areas around Kamunde Road and Lenana will be affected by the scheduled blackout today.

The affected places around Kamunde Road include; Parts of Outering, Kamunde Rd, Jumuia Hosp & adjacent customers.

The affected places around Lenana Road include; Lenana Rd, Nyangumi Rd, Jabavu Rd, Kasuku Rd, Makuyu Lane, Theta Lane & adjacent customers.

Busia

Parts of Busia County will experience power interruptions from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The blackout will hit the larger Alupe and Amerikwai areas.

The specific places affected include; Lwero Village, Amerikwai, Mapenzi Rd, Limara, Aget, Emuria FM, Angorom, Alupe Mkt, Alupe Hosp.
