List of areas scheduled for power blackout on Monday

Kenya Power issued a notice informing Kenyans of a scheduled blackout on Monday, March 11, 2024.

The utility firm in a notice on its website said that the power interruption is necessary to facilitate maintenance and upgrade power lines to the network.

“Notice is hereby given under Rule 27 of the Electric Power Rules that the electricity supply will be interrupted as here under: (It is necessary to interrupt supply periodically to facilitate maintenance and upgrade of power lines to the network; to connect new customers or to replace power lines during construction, etc.),” Kenya Power said.

Kenya Power noted that the Monday power interruption will affect Machakos and Nakuru Counties.

Parts of Machakos County will be affected by an eight-hour blackout, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The affected areas include; Kyeni, Kaseve, Kalumoni, Kaani, Kithangathini, Vyulya, Masii, Kasolongo, Muthetheni, Makutano Mwala, Mwala, Kivandini, Mbiuni, Ghetoo, Wamunyu, Yathui, Ikalaasa, Tulila, Miondoni, Syokisinga, Katangi, Ikombe, Kenyaata, Seku University, Kyua & adjacent customers.

Parts of Nakuru County will experience power interruption from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The affected areas include; Seguton, Keringet, Saptet, Tendwet, Olposimoru, Olenguruone Town, Hosp & Dairy, Kapkoros KTDA, Kiptangich T/Factory, Irongo Center, Kiptangich Center, Ambusket & adjacent customers.
