Ngong: 3 escape with gunshot wounds after stabbing police officer in nasty shootout

Detectives in Ngong, Kajiado County have launched a hunt for three criminal gangs believed to be terrorizing residents in Kajiado North Sub-County.

The hunt follows a shooting incident that involved police and the gang on the morning of Thursday, September 15, 2022.

In the incident that left one suspected criminal dead, three managed to escape with gunshot wounds after stabbing a police officer leaving him nursing serious injuries

Kajiado North Sub-County police commander Joakim Mecha stated that they managed to recover a pistol from the incident.

“We acted on information from a member of the public and acted immediately. Police rushed to the gang’s hideout and immediately one of the suspects attacked an officer using a sharp object. There was an exchange of fire as the thugs escaped and one was fatally injured. The fatally injured thug is known. He was recently involved in a robbery attack stealing a vehicle that was recovered later, “Kajiado North Sub-County police commander Joakim Mecha stated.

“We are grateful to the members of the public for giving us timely information. We want to reassure them that the information given will be treated in confidence. For the thugs terrorizing residents be warned, we are coming for you and you will face consequences of engaging in criminal activities, “Mecha added.

The body of the deceased was moved to Ngong morgue.
