Tusker confirms 5 new mid-season entrants as Charles Okere exits
By Luke Oluoch, February 18, 2026Tusker FC has confirmed the acquisition of three players who have joined the club in a major squad overhaul that has also seen coach Charles Okere leave his role as head of the technical bench.
The Congo-Brazzaville duo of goalkeeper Pavelh Ndzila and left-back Servel Akouala are among the new faces at the club.
The shot-stopper joins the Brewers after stints in Rwanda with Rayon Sports and in his home country of Congo.
“We are delighted to add these three players of international experience to the team and we are confident their presence can ignite improved performances. We have had a difficult season, and hopefully we can turn things around in the second leg. We needed to bring in experience to add steel to the squad,” said Club’s CEO Sam Nzau, on the additions

Ghanaian striker Selasie Bless Akai has also been signed on a short-term deal until the end of the season. Bakai joins the team from his native Hearts of Oaks. The attacker also has past stints in Zambia with KYSA and Kabwe Warriors.
The custodian arrives in Kenya’s top flight with an impressive CV as a two-time goalkeeper of the year in the Rwandese Premier League and the CECAFA Kagame Cup goalkeeper of the year in 2024.

This comes after Charles Okere confirmed his departure from the former KPL champions. Okere had been with the Brewers since 2018, initially leading the youth team before being promoted to head coach. He announced his exit on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, via his social media pages.
Okere’s farewell
“I am deeply grateful for everyone who walked this journey with me, from the technical staff, management players, and every member of the Tusker FC fraternity. Your support, criticism, and encouragement have all shaped me in meaningful ways,” part of his farewell message read.
The trainer, who also had a stint as Harambee Starlets coach, endured a difficult 2025/26 season marked by inconsistent performances that kept him under constant pressure and at risk of being sacked.
He was once the subject of an emotional celebration after a Brewers goal, falling to his knees in solemn prayer and reflection as the pressure of poor results and the threat of dismissal took its toll.
His memorable moments with the Brewers included winning two league titles and overseeing the transition of several youth players to the senior team, such as David Polepole, among others.
