Shabana’s winless streak continues with stalemate against Ulinzi Stars
By Luke Oluoch, May 9, 2026Shabana FC failed to break down a struggling Ulinzi Stars as the two sides battled to a stalemate in a Football Kenya Premier League clash staged at the Gusii Stadium on Saturday, May 9, 2026.
The Glamour Boys were in search of a return to winning ways against the relegation-threatened side, but despite their dominance, they had nothing to show for it in the barren encounter against Mohammed Hassan’s coached side.
The Gusii-based team was forced to contend with dropped points for a second successive match, following a similar stalemate against Police FC.
Moments of the game
New signing Papa Diallo came close to breaking the deadlock early on with a close-range shot, but it was smothered by the visitors’ goalkeeper.

Wycliffe Omondi was next to test the goal, but he couldn’t find a way through Sylavai Ricks Omondi at the goalposts as the hosts stepped up their chase for an opener.
The closing stages saw both clubs battle at close quarters, but neither side could find the back of the net.
Standings
Despite the draw, Osborne Monday’s team has moved up one rank to fifth place with 48 points, sitting one point above Kakamega Homeboyz. However, they remain three points behind Nairobi United, whose recent turnaround in form has propelled them to fourth.
Meanwhile, Kenya Police, who face Gor Mahia on Sunday, May 10, 2026, are currently ranked third, also on 48 points.
The decline occasioned by a spate of inconsistent results had left the fans concerned, prompting an assurance from the club on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
In the statement the club vowed to muster a turnaround and return to their form of old:
“We know we’re not in our best moment, but we won’t give up and we’ll come back even stronger.”
Glamour Boys’ push for maiden top-flight silverware since returning to the top tier came to heartbreaking halt as the club suffered a 1-0 loss to Kenya Police to bow out of the competition at the semifinal stage late in April 2026.
